Q: How does teeth whitening work?

A: Teeth whitening is the process of removing stains and brightening the visual appearance of teeth by using a bleaching agent. Teeth whitening can be done at a dentist's office with the use hydrogen peroxide. This whitening procedure is usually done in 60 minutes in office, as hydrogen peroxide has strong and fast-acting bleaching properties. Dramatic whitening can be achieved quickly, but can be damaging to your teeth's enamel.

Alternatively, there are other whitening methods like toothpastes, gels, strips, and at-home teeth whitening kits. Trés Bright teeth whitening kits use an LED light to accelerate the gel's whitening process, and come a choice between two gel formulas: sodium perborate (pbs) or carbamide peroxide.

Q: Which gel is best for me?

A: Trés Bright offers a choice between two whitening gel formulas. Choose between a gentler sodium perborate gel formula and a powerful 18% carbamide peroxide gel formula.

Carbamide peroxide breaks down over time with water to form hydrogen peroxide, the bleaching agent used by dental practitioners. When this reaction takes place, the peroxide removes deep stains and discoloration from the surface and inside of each tooth. It's a gentler, safer, and more convenient alternative to getting your teeth whitened at the dentist's office, but it does require a longer whitening time to achieve the same results.

For those who experience or have concerns about tooth sensitivity should opt for the non-peroxide (PBS) gel formula. This formula is gentle on your gums and enamel while lifting strains and restoring your teeth's natural color and leaving you sensitivity-free.

Q: Is teeth whitening suitable for everyone?

A: Teeth whitening is suitable for mostly anyone wanting to brighten up their appearance.  However, there are certain groups of people should not get their teeth whitened.

• Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
• People with veneers, crowns, or extensive dental work
• People with sensitive, unhealthy, or decayed teeth
• People who have oral or gum diseases

Q: How times can I whiten my teeth using one kit?

A: Each kit comes with 3 gels. Gels should be used sparingly, as in just enough to cover the surface of each tooth. Each gel can be used approximately 3-4 times. That makes a total of 9-12 times, which is plenty more than you need to achieve a trés bright smile makeover!

Q: How long and how often do I need to whiten my teeth for results?

A: Depending on the discoloration and enamel of your teeth, results can be seen in after just one use! We recommend 30-60 minutes depending on your sensitivity level. Start with 20 minutes and check sensitivity levels. Continue to add on additional time. 

For a Trés Bright Smile Makeover, whiten daily for at least 30 minutes for 7 consecutive days.

For keeping and maintaining a white smile, use as you please! Try a 10 minute weekly routine or a 60 minute top up every month depending on dietary habits and how quickly your teeth stain.

Q: Why won't my LED Light work? 

On your first use, open the battery cover on the light to remove a plastic film between the battery and battery base. Once the film is removed, try powering the light on/off again.

Q: How can I maintain a white smile?

A: Avoid consuming dark colored food and beverages for 2 weeks after whitening to maximize length of results. Drinks like coffee, tea, or wine are particularly bad for staining your teeth. If you can, refrain from these treats to maximize your results. Daily stains are inevitable so we recommend monthly smile maintenance.
